Tablature uses three different Bar combinations to tell you how to play a tune.
1. A single bar Separates Measure.
2. A double bar (sometimes called an end bar) tells you where a tune ends.
3. A double bar with two dots :|| or ||: is called a Repeat Bar. Repeat Bars are always used in paired to tell you to repeat a part of the music that you have already played. Repeat Bars in a piece of tablature will always look like this ||: :|| . When you see one :||
It tells you to go back to the other one ||: and play that tablature again.
